…some more pictures of trees that give me inspiration when doing bonsai-

although the crown of this tree looks messy, there is definite symmetry.

And i would really like to get buttressing like this on one of my bonsai.

…bonsai, it has to be the best time of year if you’re into gardening as everything is coming back to life. Here is my berberis which is just starting to get it’s new buds, and it won’t be long before it flowers-

I do have a picture of it with leaf but i think i prefer it now when it is yawning and stretching.

While there i got the Wife to take these pictures-

Why? well these are the types of images i try to recreate in my bonsai and it’s always nice to have a picture to reference.

…the last of the most recent set of bonsai pictures-

This is a plum tree that used to belong to The Wife. It did however get neglected while in her care so it was promptly rescued and given a better quality of life as a piece of living art.

…for bonsai can come from many sources. Probably the best and cheapest source i have found is from your own garden, or rescues from friends or family members gardens. All that is required with these trees is a little time and inspiration. To illustrate have a picture of a Privet i dug out of our old garden before we moved-

I realise to most it just looks nothing like a bonsai but it most definatly has potential.

If you don't believe me check out the history of another Privet bonsai here and hopefully you will see what i mean.

This tree was one of the first i collected six years ago-

The juniper is being trained in the cascade style, most of the work i am doing on the tree is developing the leaf pads as the general shape is almost complete.

Hornbeam-

I have had this tree for 3 years and the main focus in this tree at the moment is exposing the roots which i started last year and almost killed the tree in the process (to much to soon). All the growth you see in leaves comes from praying lol. I will not be doing anything more with this tree until at least next year just to give it a chance to fully recover.

The Roots-

There is still a long way to go with this but they show promise and although some have had to be cut out there are still others to discover.
