Male T-bar… September 1, 2006

He happens to be very shy but at the same time the most dominant fish in the tank, an oxymoron i know but thats the best description of his temperament.

He is currently about 2.5in long so about half his full adult size.

His nuchal hump (head lump) has considerably grown since the last photo here, and will get bigger still.

It is also possible to make out the red colour and extensions of the dorsal and anal fins which the female does not possess

Defining features of the T-bar cichlid which can be made out clearly on this photo are the lines which give it it’s name, the bright blue eyes and the bright blue gill covers.
